The AAA is funded through Federal
and State government grants in addition to local share funds
that are contributed by the County of Venango. Cost sharing is
required for some services. This means that depending on
income, some consumer co-payments are required for some
services. Very low-income consumers will pay nothing for most
services for which they are eligible. (Income and asset
documentation is required) The primary goal of the AAA is to
foster and maintain independent living for older Venango County
residents. Once a person is assessed and eligible, the AAA may
directly provide or purchase some services from other
providers. The agency is also responsible for planning,
coordination of services, and resource management of Older
Americans Act, PA Lottery Funds, and other funds available to
Venango County. Community participation and input for the
development of the service delivery system is sought from
various groups that include the Area Agency on Aging Advisory
Council, Senior Center Site Councils, and annual public
