Federal Voting Assistance Program (FVAP)
Voting help for uniformed service members, their families and citizens living outside of the United States
This is a new online service provided by the Department of State that is intended to help users complete their Voter Registration and Absentee Ballot Request Form to their local election office online through a secure server. Individuals may log onto www.fvap.gov to avail themselves of this service. The screens being displayed will walk them through the process. The Form that is generated from the voter will be uploaded to the server as a PDF file. The local Voter Registration/Election Office will receive notice via an email message, to login to the application to download and process the Form, and automatically respond to the voter with a rejection or acceptance message.
Once the voter receives an acceptance from the election official, the voter will be able to receive their blank ballot through the server. When ballots are available, the election official will upload the appropriate blank ballot to the individual voter onto the secure server. After receiving notice via email from the election official to the voter to login to the application, the voter can print, mark, and sign the ballot, prior to mailing it into the appropriate County Election Office. It should be understood that this process is not intended for the submission of voted ballots.
