Representative Payee Services

Overview

Minor children, adults, and older adults who are experiencing mental health or development difficulties that prevent them from appropriately managing their financial resources should be appointed a payee to assist them with their financial management.

A representative payee helps beneficiaries who need assistance in managing their benefits. A representative payee’s responsibilities include:  

  • Appropriately saving any remaining benefits
  • Keeping good records of how benefits are spent
  • Using benefits to pay for the current and foreseeable needs of the beneficiaries

As needed to fulfill payee responsibilities

Eligibility

This service is open to all age groups but requires a referral made to service by Human Service Case Management.
